Ivan the Terrible is born

Aug 25, 1530

Ivan was born in Kolomenske near Moscow. He was the son of Prince vasilli who was murderd only a couple of years later. This event is important because ivan is born and without that none of hiscrazy actions as well as smart actions would have happened(Blumberg 126)

Henry the 8th of England

Jan 1, 1534

Henry the 8th was the head of the church in England.He overthrew the pope and made himself the head of the church(Grun 236- 254). This was important because it is very rare that someone overthrows the chuch.

His mother and uncles Die

Jan 1, 1537

Ivans mother and uncles were murdered by some jealous boyars. Boyars were government members who helped the Czar with political things. This was an important event because seeing them die scarred him for life and would cause him to go crazy later on(blumberg 126).

His Anger Begins

At the age of 13, Ivan started to earn bad attributes. He oredered a Boyar to be executed right in front of him because they wernt being respectful. He also oredered another boyars tongue to be removed for talking back to him(Blumberg 126)

Civil War breaks out

In 1546 a civil war broke out in Germany. This happened over political events(Grunn236-254). This event important because Germany was in a civil war

Crowned as Czar

Jan 17, 1547

In 1547 Ivan the Terrible was finally crowned as Muscovy's first czar. Czar is a another word for "ceasar". He was crowned in the Kremlins great Hall. This was important because he was the first czar of Muscovy(Blumberg 126).

starts his first millitary campiagn

His first millitary campaign was against the tatars of the khanate of Kazan. Kazan was finally taken by ivan in 1552. After that he took over khanate of asstrakhan(blumberg 126).

Starts a War

When Ivan moved into the Baltic region a war broke out called the livonian War. This lasted 24 years and was broken up by Pope Gregory. Unfortunatley Moscow was burned to the ground as a result(blumberg 126)

Anastasia dies

His wife Anastasia Rominov died mysteriously. Historians believe that it was murder and that she was poisoned. She was the reason why he had good years of his reign.(blumberg 126). This was important becasue as a result he was depressed for a while and went into what was known as his bad years.

Leaves Moscow

Jan 1, 1564

Ivan suddenly left Moscow for his estate at Aleksandrowskaia Sloboda 60 miles out from Moscow.He threatened to retire but people pleaded to return back to Moscow. Finally he returned back Moscow(blumberg 126). This was important because he almost retired due to anxiety.

80 years war begins

The 80 years war began in 1566. The Dutch began to revolt against the Spanish(Grun 236-254). Ths event is important because the Spanish were controling the Dutch for a long time.

Father Thomas abroad

Father Thomas Stephens became the first englishman to settle in India. He settled in a city called Goa(Grun 236-254). This important because no other englishman has actually settled down in India.

Ivan murders his own son and heir

Towards the end of his life he became very crazy and he had bad anxiety. It got so bad that he actually murdered his own son and his heir. A heir is someone who works along with the czar(blumberg 126). This important because he kills his own son and close friend/heir.

The Osaka castle

General Toyomtomi Hideyoshi begins to lay the foundation for the osaka castle. Unfortunatley he died when it was completed(Grun 236-254). This was important because it was an important because it was bigger than Oda's castle who had built one before him.

Murder in the Netherlands

In 1584 William of Orange of Orange was murdered. He was killed the
he same year as Ivan the terrible(Grun 236-254). This was important because he ws Dutch Royalty

Ivan the Terrible Dies

Ivan The Terrible continued to grow very ill and eventually died. He died at age 54, during a game of chess. His other son Fyodor is assigned the throne but he gives the power to his other brother Boris Godvnov(blumberg 126). This is important because Ivan finally dies.
