The split of Israel
In this event the United Nations voted to split Israel into land for the Jews and the Arabs. The Jews accepted the offer to take the land, but the Arabs declined. Then when in May of 1948, six Arab states attacked Israel. The outcome was giving some of Jordan and Israel to the Arabs. -

The Six-Day War
After Egypt expels United Nations peacekeepers and prepares its army. Israel the launched a surprise attack. Then Syria, Jordan, and Iraq joined the fight, but Israel still came out on top. Israelis captured East Jerusalem and the West Bank from Jordan, Gaza and Sinai from Egypt and the Golan Heights from Syria. -
Surprise Attack
On Yom Kippur, Egypt and Syria launch a surprise attack on Israeli forces in Sinai and the Golan Heights. Israel repels both armies and a cease-fire is declared. Israel withdew, this event was then known as the Yom Kippur War -
Israel's finally recognized
After Anwar Sadat visited Jerusalem, Jimmy Carter broke peace between Egypt and Israel. After this Egypt was the first Arab nation to consider Israel a country. -

The palestinians were angered by Israel's occupation of West Bank and Gaza. In 1989 the palestinians started to use suicide bombing.
