  • Suez Crisis

    Suez Crisis
    Stretching until November 7th, the Suez Crisis was another battle fought between Israel and Palestine. The French and British forces joined the Israelis. In the end, Egypt Emerged victorious when the French, British and Israeli governments retreated the troops in late 1956- early 1957.

    6 Day War
    This war was a strong event (despite being 5-6 days long) for the Israeli-Palestine Conflict. On the morning of June 5th, Israel launched a sudden air strike that destroyed over 90% of Egypts Air Force. The War was stopped by Syria, along with all the other nations, accepted the cease-fire plan.

    Hoping to win back some territory lost by the 6 Day War, Egyptian and Syrian forces launched an attack on Israel on Yom Kippur, the holiest day in the Israeli/Jewish calendar. Israel counter-attacked and recaptured their land, and a cease-fire went into p;ace on the 25th of October, 1973

  • 1st Lebanon War

    1st Lebanon War
    Nearly 6 weeks after Israel’s complete departure for the Sinai, tension levels heightened between the Israelis and Palestinians causing Israel to bomb Beirut and Southern Lebanon, where the PLO were. Eventually, after much invasive behavior from the Israelis, they withdrew their army and began making negotiations on June 14th, 1982.

    During this time, Hezbollah launched an attack to force Israel to release Lebanese soldiers, capturing and killing Israeli’s. Israel counter attacked and left more than 1,000 Lebanese dead. Hezbollah’s ability to fight the Israeli’s won a lot of praise in the Arab world.

    Hamas Fires Rockets at Jerusalem
    Weeks of tension in Jerusalem led to Israeli police raiding al-Aqsa Mosque, one of the holiest sites in Islam, Hamas fired rockets toward the city for the first time in years, f promoting Israel to counter-strike with air strikes. The fighting, fiercest since 2014 at least, saw thousands of rockets fired from Gaza and hundreds of airstrikes on Palestinian territory, with over 210 deaths total.
