The Umayyads are invited to a feast by their victors, the Abbasids, who then throw carpets over their heads and slaughter them during dinner. It is an attempt to eliminate the Umayyad family forever so they may never rise again, but one Umayyad brother escapes to Spain where he builds his own empire. -
