    The baby can lift it's head and turn it from side to side. While not able to fully talk, the baby coos and babbles. A baby learns to develop a certain cry for different needs. Babies at this age can distinguish between familiar and unfamiliar voices.
  • 2 month old baby

    At this age babies respond to different pitches of voice and show interest in their surroundings. They can make different crying sounds for their various needs and can also make eye contact.
  • 3 month old baby

    Most babies can open and close their hands and hold head up. They can show their joy by smiling and can tell a smile from a frown. Babies will also be able to tell familiar from unfamiliar voices.
  • 4 month old baby

    Babies can support their upper body on hands when lying on their stomach and are able to show disgust. They laugh, squeal, and babble. Babies make the "goo-gah" combinations.
  • 5 month old baby

    5 month old baby
    A baby at this age will turn their head in the direction of noise. They can now show emotions such as anger and may cry when left alone. They are awake for longer periods of time and studies objects closely.
  • 6 month old baby

    Babies pass a block from one hand to another and show emotions such as fear. They may cry when left alone and recognize their own name.
  • 7 month old baby

    They can sit up steadily and roll over both ways. They often show the emotion fear through screaming or turning away. Babies at this age also will play alone or with other children. They begin to underswtand cause and effect and imitate the actions of others.
  • 8 month old baby

    At this age babies can pull themselves up to stand and begin to expwerience stranger anxiety. They can remember things that happened and imitate the actions of other people.
  • 9 month old baby

    Babies respond to their own name and crawl around to look for their parents. They like to take objects out of containers and put them back in.
  • 10 month old baby

    10 month old baby
    A baby will now crawl well and play peek-a-boo and sound games. They can respond to some words or phrases, such as "no" and "all gone".
  • 11 month old baby

    11 month old baby
    They use gestures like shaking their heads to say no. The showing of their dislikes and likes are stronger. They can point and identify objects in books.
  • 12 month old baby

    12 month old baby
    They can walk a few steps alone and stand lone for a short time. Time is soent looking in the mirror as entertainment. Some words they can speak regularly.
