At 3-4 months old the infant is able to move around and starts to kicking their legs when upheld upright off the floor. They are also able to move their head and look around. At 3-4 months the infant can roll over and grasp anything in their hands.

The infant is also getting more reflexes like the swimming reflex which according the textbook (Feldman pg. 123) is the infants tendency to paddle and kick in a sort of swimming motion when lying face down in a body of water. They have also developed the Moro reflex.

They are able to grasp with thumb and finger and can stand alone. The Babinski reflex according to the textbook (Feldman pg. 123) is when an infant fans out toes when stroked on the outside of foot.

They have developed more fine motor skills such as being able to pick ojects off the ground like marbles. At this age the infants in able to build towers out of two cubes and walk up steps. Verbal capacity is growing and the infant is learning new words and is capable of making small sentances.

This is because the muscle development has not completly happend. The infant is starting to gain more cognitve abilities like building towers and making paintings, they have also been buliding their vocabulary and pronouncation.
