  • Creation of The First Central Bank

    Creation of The First Central Bank
    The first central bank was called Swedish Riksbank and it was founded by William Paterson. William Paterson decided to established the bank to finance wars. This helped people stay organized and helped people keep their money somewhere. Almost everyone now has a bank account.
  • Steam Engine

    Steam Engine
    Thomas Savery invented the steam engine. It was first used to remove water from mines. As time went on it was used to carry goods from place to place, and also people. The impact of the steam engine was once the steam engine was invented, people could have factories pretty much anywhere, they didn't have to be by rivers anymore because of the steam engine. And it increased and made the transportation faster and more often.
  • Silk Factory

    John Lombe starts his own silk factory. John Lombe was a silk spinner in the 18th century in Derby, England. The silk factory was used produce silk for people's homes, decoration, and most of all clothing. This made an impact on many peoples lives in this time.
  • Flying Shuttle

    Flying Shuttle
    The flying shuttle was invented by John Kay. The flying shuttle was a shuttle that was thrown, or passed, through the threads by hand, and wide fabrics required two weavers seated side by side passing the shuttle between them. John Kay invented the Flying Shuttle because it was a step toward automatic weaving. The flying shuttle allowed people to weave wider fabrics. Some flying shuttles are still being used today, but not a lot of them.

    The Spinning Jenny was invented by James Hargreaves, who was a weaver, carpenter, and inventor in Lancashire, England. The Spinning Jenny was a spinning frame with multiple spindles. It was used to make cloth a lot quicker than normal.
  • John Lombe

    John Lombe
    John Lombe was a silk spinner in the 18th century. John Lombe's father was a very bad weaver. Him and his brother were great weavers. They even opened up their own mill called Lombe's Mill. They then thought others how to do it and then became very successful.
  • First Railroad Created in England

    First Railroad Created in England
    The first railroad in England was created by Richard Trevithick. The first passenger-carrying public railroad was opened by the Swansea and Mumbles Railway at Oystermouth. But this was just for horse carriages. Then Richard Trevithick designed and built the first steam engine to run on the rails. The first railroads were used in mines for carrying rock and coal. Within a few years, passenger-carrying railroads were built. This has a huge impact today because we use railroads for the same things.

    There were 4 inventors of the sewing machine. They were Josef Madersperger, Elias Howe, Walter Hunt, and Barthélemy Thimonnier. A sewing machine is a machine used to stitch fabric and other materials together with thread. Sewing machines were invented to decrease the amount of manual sewing work in clothing companies. This left a huge lecacy because a lot of people still use sewing machines today to make multiple things such as clothes, pillowcases, curtains, etc.
  • First Automobile

    Karl Friedrich Benz was a German engine designer and automobile engineer. Karl Benz invented the first automobile in Germany in 1885/1886. Although the car looked like a horse carriage it had things that qualified it as a car. This has an impact on our lives today because people builded off of this to make new cars and still are today building off of maybe not this car, but newer ones. And everywhere you go, pretty much youre going to be riding in a car.
  • Aspirin

    Aspirin
    Aspirin was invented by Felix Hoffman, who was a German chemist. Aspirin is used to relieve pain. During the Industrial Revolution people used willow tree bark to relieve pain. But once Aspirin was invented the life expentency went up. The impact is that people still use Aspirin to help prevent heart attacks, strokes, and blood clot formation. Aspirin can also be used long-term and at low doses.
