India's First Nuclear Explosion
In a form of nuclear weapons, India is known to hold "weapons of mass destruction." On May 18, 1947 India had it's first peaceful nuclear explosion. It was exploded by Indian Army on the army base Rajasthan Pokhran Test Range. The explosion was under watch by many key Indian army Officials The eplosive yield was was estimated around 8kt. -
Accession Of Kashmir
Maharaja Hari Singh of Kashmir and Governor-General Lord Louis Mountbatten signed papers making Kashmir a state. Since then it has been argued about and has caused many wars between India and Pakistan. -
India's Constitution Was Passed
BR Ambedkar, the Chairman of the Drafting committee, made the constitution of India and presented to the rest of the committee and everyone liked it. The constitution was passed on November 26, 1949. The constitution ranks as the best in the world. -
India’s First General Election
Once India became independent in 1947, they had to make leaders. In January 1952 India held it's first general election. The election was held open for more than 175 million Indians. A large percent of them were uneducated. The Indian National Congress won majority of the seats, totaling 364 out of 489 seats available. -
State Recongization Act
The State Recongization Act searated the states based off of language. It was Potti Sriramulu’s plan to reorganize the states and hopefull united India as a nation. In 1964 a new map of India was drawn of the new separate states. Most of India is still has these same boundaries. The Act is known as the most extensive change in Indian geographics since the independence of India. -

In June 1991 a BOP crisis in India alomst made the counrty have to declare bankruptcy. Rajiv Gandhi’s, the Raji, ended in India accompanied by lowering of Central taxes. -
Telecom Revolution
The aam admi was allowed to own a personal phone. In November 1994 they had the privilage of the telecom sector. For the government the act or renvue and sharing between the government and the telecom operates was passed in 1999. -
Formation of the Task Force
The Indian Government formed the Nation Task force in 1998. This was the first step in the IT revolution for India. It has increased India's GPD to 7.5% and revenues 100$ billion in U.S. dollars and the numbers continue to grow. -
Nuclear Deal
Indian is responsible nuclear weapons holder, so the administration of the United States signed a nuclear deal in July. This indicated that the bans of nuclear weapons in India no longer existed. Some agreed with this deal and others didn't. -
Terrorist Attack
