In 1511, the Portugese go to Africa, and bring slaves to their colonies in the Americas in huge slave ships. Slave trade will soon become a major industry, and it will earn the Portugese a lot of money. -

Hernan Cortes conquers the Aztec Empire
Hernan Cortes was a Spanish Conquistador who defeated the Aztec Empire. The Aztecs thought he and his fellow Spaniards were gods. The emperor, Montezuma, gave him a lot of gold, and then he and his army brought down the Aztec Empire. -

Francisco Pizzaro was a Spanish Conquistador who defeated the Incan Empire with very few men because he had horses, and he ambushed the Incan army. -
English found Jamestown
In 1607, The Virginia Company of London, sent people to Virginia to form a colony. Jamestown became the first permanent English colony in the Americas. -
The English found Plymouth
Plymouth was an English colony in what is now Massachusetts created by Puritan Pilgrims who wanted to escape the Church of England. The Pilgrims arrived in a ship named the Mayflower. -
The French and Indian War ends
The British (in America) fought the French (in America) and the Indians for land. The British won, and all the French were left with were a couple of islands off South America. The British took all of New France.
