Some people believe that the Renaissance started when two men fought over who would design a door in the Baptistry in Florance. This is said to hve sparked the movent of the Renaissance.

The Tides of the Hundred Year War Turn
After 80 years of fighting, the french finally gained the upper hand of the war. This happened at the Siege of Orléans. The English attack the city for months until Joan of Arc drove them away. This was a major victory for the french.

The Hundred Year War Ends

The Hundred Year started when King Philip VI of France tried to take English territory. One of the most well known people during this war was Joan of Arc. The war ended when France expelled Enland from the continent.

Christopher Columbus and his three ships, the Niña, the Pinta, and the Santa Maria sailed across the Atlantic Ocean and landed in what he thought was India. This area is now know as the Americas.

The Sack of Rome
Pope Clement VII's actions angered the imperial army, causing them to surround the city and demand a ransom. The pope refused and called the citizens to arms. By the next day the city was taken and overrun, leading to the downfall of the Italian Renaissance period.
