  • Founding of IB

    The IB Program is founded in Geneva, Switzerland, as a college preparation program for internationally minded students.

  • 4,500 IB World Schools

    4,538 schools worldwide participate in the IB program, serving approximately 1.25 million students. 161,104 students take the DP exams.

  • COVID-19 Pandemic

    The COVID-19 Pandemic interupts the regular flow of society, causing schools to shut down in-person instruction and move to an online model in many countries. The IB Exams are cancelled and classes are restructured to meet the needs of virtual schooling.

  • IB Goes Virtual

    IB is integrated fully online in response to the COVID-19 Pandemic.

  • Virtual Classrooms Link Up

    Due to the online functionality, students from around the globe are able to join virtual classrooms together utilizing programs similar to Zoom. This enables more global collaboration, which helps students gain a more global perspective.

  • Virutal Reality Technology Integration

    Students are able to interact in VR with students from around the world as VR technology improves and becomes more accessible. This enables high levels of global collaboration and cooperation.
