    Wednesday, August 24th

  • Day 3

    Thursday, August 25th
    Katrina has continues to get stronger. The strongest winds are 75mph, which is a category 1 hurricane. When it reaches shore, the winds are at 80mph. The high wind knocks down trees and power lines, killing two people.     Friday, August 26th

    When the hurricane hits the Gulf of Mexico, it immediately starts to strengthen. Soon, the winds have reached 100 miles per hour.     Saturday, August 27th
    Hurricane Katrina’s wind speeds have increased to 115 miles per hour, and has covered the whole Gulf of Mexico. There was flooding in every state that the hurricane was hit. Some people didn’t even know what was going on.

    The winds of the hurricane have reached 175 miles per hour. The mayor of New Orleans orders a mandatory evacuation of the city. At this time, the hurricane is classified as a category five hurricane. Anyone who is unable or chooses not to evacuate takes shelter in the Louisiana Superdome.     The Congress agreed to supply $10.5 million dollars for all the damage that happened everywhere the hurricane hit. At this time, the government is finding homes for all of the victims of the earthquake.
