    The defeat convinced many Indians in the Northwest Territory that they needed British support to American settlers from pushing them out of their lands. The US blamed furhter violence on the british, which helped to start the war of 1812

    his was the last major battle in the war of 1812. 7500 British soldiers marched against 4500 US troops led by general Andrew Jackson. Jackson defeated the British in 30 minutes, stopping their attack on New Orleans. The Treaty of Ghent, which ended the war, was signed two weeks before this battle, but the news had not crossed the Atlantic.
