Boston Tea Party

The King was starting to tax everything, even tea! A group of men that lived in America were furious. The men got on the ships in the Boston Harbor and threw the tea into the sea to protest against the King.

Declaration of Independence

This is the day the Declaration of Independence was adopted, which was written by Thomas Jefferson. This was when America decided to be free and no longer be under the rule of the King.

Liberty Bell Hidden

Sep 24, 1777

The Redcoats planned on taking all the bells and melting them into cannons. The American troops hid the bells around the area. The Liberty Bell was hidden in the Zion's Reformed Church in Allentown.

Constitution

Sep 17, 1787

This was the day the Constitution was adopted. This document made the rules and laws for America.

First President!

Apr 30, 1789

George Washington did such a great job leading America's troops during the American Revolution, that people decided to have him become the first president of the U.S.A!
