Kristallnacht (Night of Broken Glass)
Kristallnacht is an anti-jewish pogrom in Germany, Austria, and the Sudentenland. 200 synagogues destroyed, 7,500 Jewish shops looted, and 30,000 male Jews were sent to concentration camps. The camps were Dachau, Buchenwald, and Sachsenhausen. -

Warsaw Ghetto
German authorities begin rounding up Polish jews for transfer to Warsaw Ghetto. 10,000 Jews died of starvation in the ghetto between January and June 1941. -
Warsaw Ghetto uprising
Warsaw Ghetto revolt begins. Germans attempt to liquidate 70,000 inhabitants. Jewish underground fights Nazis until early June. -
Hitler assassination
A group of German officers attempt to assassinate Hitler. The assassination was for making peace with the western allies as soon as possible. There is thought to be 5 other assassination attemps on Hitler. -
Evacuation
The SS evacuated Auschwitz. SS units forced nearly 60,000 prisoners to march west. Thousands had been killed in the camps in the day these death marches began. -
Suicide
Hitler commits suicide by swallowing a cyanide capsule and a gunshot to the head. Hitler married his long-time mistress Eve Braun just one day before his suicide. Hitler withdrew to his bunker where he lived out his final days. The bunker had all the requirements for living including 18 rooms.
