Clyde Livingston's shoes land on Stanley Yelnats' head. He takes them and runs to his house. A police officer finds him and arrests him for theft. A judge doesn't believe the story. Stanley gets sent to Camp Green Lake, a juveniele detention home. -
Bus ride
Stanley takes a busride to Camp Green Lake in Texas. There used to be a lake there, but it dried up a long time ago. It is very hot and dry at the camp. -
Stanley meets the other juvenile delinquents at Camp Green Lake.
