Hitler based his election off the treaty of versailles and said how he wanted to abolish it. many germans agreed with this so they voted for him. this was because the treaty of versailles took away many things from germany mainly money and the right to an army. Germany's glory days and the belief in the power of the empire (Condition)
Germany's glory days were before they lost WW1. When they had a good reputation in the world. They wanted to restore that glory. The empire of Germany was very powerful before WW1 because of their Navy size and army recruits. They even contested the British Navy by trying to make their navy equal to that of the British. -
Creation of the Nazi Party 1920 (Method)
Hitler was told by the authorities to investigate a new right wing party.
He was asked to join the party due to posing an argument so well.
On Feb 24 1920 they
changed their name to 'Nazi' and had a very right-wing program.
The Wall Street crash gained the Nazis more support.
On July 28 1921 Adolf Hitler was made leader of the Nazi party. -
Weimar Republic - weak and divided (Condition)
The Weimar Republic was established after World War I. This was a weak democracy that was always associated with the Treaty of Versailles. Hitler managed to exploit the weaknesses of the Republic and play on peoples desires for a strong government that could solve Germany's many problems. Interestingly Hitler was elected into power as in late 1932 his Nazi Party was the largest party in the Weimar Republic. Once he was elected, he used his power to establish a dictatorship. -
Economic Chaos and hyper-inflation of early 1920's (Condition)
The hyperinflation in the Weimar Republic was a three year period between June 1921 and July 1924. After losing WWI. Germany had to pay huge amounts of reparations because of the Treaty of Versailles. They managed to pay an installment of 2 billion marks through coal, iron and wood, but they couldn't manage to pay another installment.
The allies did not believe this, and invaded Ruhr (Germans most valuable industrial area). Since workers could no longer produce goods, the economy suffered. -
Use of Propaganda (Method)
Joseph Goebbel's propaganda campaign won the support of many Aryans across Germany. Their method was to target different, specific groups of the community using slogans and policies effectively. Widespread distrust of the Jewish population (Condition)
Propaganda had a huge impact on the German population to distrust the Jews. Hitler made the Jews seem very ill-seeming and subhuman.
He published many illustrated books to make children see Jews as a minor race and therefore untrustworthy.
Many Jews had jobs that Germans wanted and Hitler took that as an advantage and claimed that Jews had stolen their jobs, this made them think poorly of Jews. -
Hitler learns from his time in jail. (Method)
Hitler was imprisoned in March of 1924 because he had failed to overthrow the Bavarian government. In jail Hitler wrote the book 'Mein Kampf' which was a book with Hitler's opinions, ideas and philosophies. In jail, Hitler had learnt to no longer go against the government, but instead, use democracy

As a child he got on very well with his mother but he didn’t get on well with his father,
He was not very academic but got good grades for PE and artistic talents.Witch helps him with the propaganda. He was a motivational speaker.Then he later on in his life became a painter.While hitler was in prison he wrote a book called Mein Kampf.
When he was 17 his mother died and 4 years later his father died, after this he was wondering homeless along the streets of Vienna

Wall Street Crash and the Great Depression (Condition)
Because of the Nazi party's views on anti-capitalism, the Nazi party used the Wall Street Crash and the Great Depression to their advantage, stating that this was an example of how capitalism had failed. When the American Stock Exchange collapsed, America called in all of its foreign loans, which destroyed Weimar Germany. Unemployment in Germany rose to 6 million. Many workers turned to communism, which threatened the wealth of many wealthy businessmen, forcing them to finance Hitler's plans. -

Use of Violence (Method)
Hitler utilized violence (as a method) in order to keep his followers completely faithful to his discriminatory ideology. This prevented followers from attempting to leave the Nazi Party or disobeying his orders. Hitler also allowed his followers to inflict as much harm as necessary upon the Jewish race. Germany was in the middle of an economic downturn when Hitler came to power. He promised to revive the economy and create jobs.
Wealthy businessmen and industrialists feared the communists, so Hitler promised to get rid of them. In return, they funded his campaign.
Germans hated the fact that their government was weak, so Hitler promised to create a strong government.
Germans were furious about the Treaty of Versailles, and Hitler promised to overturn the Treaty.
