    WWI Ends in German Defeat
    On November 11th, 1918, WW1 is ended with the German's defeat. Faced with political unrest and starvation at home, an economy in ruins, and mounting defeats on the battlefield, the German generals requested armstice negotiations with the allies on this day. This is important because this defeat made many German's upset and unable to handle the loss, including Adolf Hitler. Hitler started to blame people like the Jews for the loss. This is what caused Hitler to hate on the Jewish people.

    The Treaty of Versailles
    The Treaty of Versailles was an agreement between Germany and the Allies that was signed at the Palace of Versailles. The nations highly supported financial, military, and territorial consequences on Germany. Hitler pointed out that many of the provisions in it were designed to weaken Germany, not out of peace, but out of vengeful retribution. This event is important because this resentment was vital for Hitler's success.

    The first meeting was held at a large hall in Munich, arranged by Adolf Hitler.There were two thousand people who attended, including some Communists. This event was important because it was the benchmark for the grand Nazi Party, and during the meeting Hitler described the 'Twenty Five Points', which included rejections of the Treaty of Versailles, and discrimination against the Jews. The crowd was in an overwhelming favour.

    When Hitler wrote the book Mein Kampf, depicting his life story, it was revolutionary for the German people. They bought into his propaganda, and seeing the softer side of Hitler. This was important because it made him more well-liked, and seen more as a relatable human. This support would help him become Fuhrer of Germany later.

    Hitler On Trial For Treason
    Adolf Hitler had a trial for what he did in the Beer Hall Putsch. He was on trial for treason because of his attempt to take over Germany. This is an important event because Hitler actually used it as propaganda. Hitler took responsibility for what he did, but claimed it was out of patriotism and because he wanted a better Germany. During this trial Hitler could've gotten more people to support him and be on his side.

    When the stock market crashed, many Germans were left poor and jobless, desperate for a solution. Hitler provided that for them, giving them a new chance and many promises. He knew that to overthrow the democracy he needed to do it politically and legally. Elections were scheduled and the Nazi party made preparations. This event was important because it allowed Hitler to be noticed and aid his people, earning their trust and respect. A time of change was occuring in Germany.

    After a communist arsonist burns the Reichstag down, Hitler demands all Communists be sent to prison, as well as any other political parties. This event aided Hitler because he eliminated the anti-Nazi parties, gaining full support through fear. He was able to place the blame on one particular party, which gave the people a scapegoat.

    On March 24th, 1933, the Nazi party passed a law called the Enabling Act, which gave Hitler the power to create laws intended to fight the crisis of the people and state without permission from the parliament. Hitler officially became the prime lawmaker with this act. With the Weimar democracy out of the picture completely. This event is important because Hitler now had the power to carry out his fantasy of bringing Germany back on top.

    Night of the Long Knives
    Hitler killed Ernst Rohm, the leader of SA, without trial and destroyed SA making SS the only secret police in Nazi Germany. Rohm was getting to be too independent and Hitler killed him so that he would have complete control over the SS. With the SA as a leaderless force, their numbers could now be absorbed into the the SS. This event is important because Hitler crushes all opposition within his own party, thus eliminating any of his rivals.
  • Hitler Elected "Fuerher"

    Hitler Elected "Fuerher"
    Hindenburg died on August 2nd 1934, and he was not replaced. Instead Hitler merged the presidential office with the Chancellor, calling it Führer. This event is important because he now ruled a country with no organised political opposition, a paramilitary force he could use to murder who he wanted, and a country increasingly merged with Nazi party ideas.
