Hitler's Restrictions 1933-39
Hitler introduces many laws which gradually took away from the Jews of Germany and their rights as German citizens. -
Jewish lawyers forbidden
Jewish lawyers were forbideen to work as lawyers in Berlin. -
No sports or gymnastics
Jews were excluded from sports and gymnastic clubs. -
No Jewish writers
Jewish writers were not allowed to carry out any form of literary work in Germany. -
'For Jews'
Jews were only allowed to sit onbenches with yellow markings which was 'for Jews'. If this was to happen to me I would feel very uncomfortable and upset because i was not treated equally to others. -
Citizenship Removed
All Jews had their German citizenship removed. If I had my citizenship removed due to being a due I would feel the urge to not even be in that country anymore as having my citizenship removed would be an way of telling me I am no loger welcome in the country. -
Hand Over
Jews had to hand over electrical and optical equipment, bicycles, typewriters ad records. I would feel upset because some types which I woudl use at home would be taken away from me even though it is no harm to anyone else. -
Posters Removed
Anti-Jewish posters were temporarily removed during the Olympic Games whih took place in Berlin. if anti-jewish posters were taken down temorarily I would be extremely angry because the Nazi's were trying to hide shat they were doing and treating people. -
Still a Jew
Even if Jews converted to Christianity and were baptised, they were still to be classed as members of the Jew race. -
No to the Red Cross
Jews were forbidden to become members of the German Red Cross. -
Assets Seized
Jews had to declare their finances so that assests could be seized by the government. -
Nothing Left Behind For Jews
Non-Jews were restricted from leaving anything in their wills to Jews. -
Name Change
Male Jews were forced to add the name 'Israel' , and female Jews the name 'Sara', to their first names. If someone was to change my name I would feel as if they had stripped my idenetity and who I was. -
Jewish Passports
Jewish passports had to be stamped with the letter 'J'.I would feel upset because it seems like the government is trying to embarrass me for being a Jew. -
No Business
Jews were banned from running a retail or wholesale business. I would feel angry, upset and stressed because if that was the way I made my money my families income would be gone. -
Jewish Publishing Houses and Book Stores
Jewish publishing houses amd book stores closed down. -
No Swimming
Jew people were banned from using indoor and open air swimming pools. -
No Valueables for Emigrants
Emigrants were not allowed to take jewellery and valueables with them. I would feel upset becuase jewels can be quite expensive but also could be family heirlomes or something which has a special memory which goes with it and having to leave them would be quite distressed with the idea of letting them go. -
No more Gold, Silver etc..
Jews were ordered to hand in jewellery, gold, silver, platinum and pearls to the police. -
Evicted from Homes
Jews could be evicted from their homes without a reason given and without notive being served. I would feel very frantic, stressed and enraged because I would have to leave my home for no appartent reason and on such short notice I would have to pack up and leave.\ -
Curfew for Jews
Jews were not allowed to leave their homes after 8pm in the winter and 9pm in the Summer. I would feel as if the goverment is trying to treat me as a child and would find it extremely annoying.
