Hitler's Birth
Adolf Hitler was born on April 20, 1889 in Braunau, Austria. He was born to Alois Hitler and Klara Polzl and had six siblings. At the age of 15 his father, Alois died. Soon after his father in 1907, when Hitler was 18 his mother also died leaving him an orphan. This possibly contributed to his actions during his dictatorship, due to his troubled past, he became hateful and merciless. (Giblin 4) -

The first long-distance telephone line was linked from Boston to Chicago in 1893. This was a huge invention, it granted people the ability to communicate with someone halfway across the country. Theodore Roosevelt is Elected President
Theodore Roosevelt was elected president in 1904. He ran against Alton B. Parker and won the popular and electoral college votes. Roosevelt was originally William Mckinley's vice president but when Mckinley was assassinated Roosevelt took over as president of the United States. During his presidency he was able to strengthen ties with Britain and they became very close allies. He also won the Nobel Peace Prize for his work within politics.(Wetterau) -

Hitler Joins the Great War
In 1914, at the age of 25 Hitler decided it was in his best interest to enroll into the German military. While he was on duty he participated in significant battles such as the Battle of the Somme, when the French and British launched and offensive on the German empire that lasted from July 1, 1916 to November 1 of that year. Hitler Is Placed On Trial
Hitler was placed on trial by the German government for conspiracy. Hitler would speak out among a group of people and talk about his plans for a new government. Hitler also declared that a revolution was starting and that he would lead the German people to victory. This caught the eye of a German official and Hitler was subsequently arrested and sentenced to jail for nine months. (Damon) -
Mein Kampf
During Hitler's stay in jail he began to write a book outlining his plans for the German government and his anti-semitic ideas. The book was titled Mein Kampf, or "My Fight" and he wrote all of his ideas within it. Not only did he outline his plan for the German government, but he also planned a revolution claiming that he'd give the German people a reason to be proud again and that they'd thrive and conquer under his leadership. Hitler Becomes Chancellor
Hitler became leader of Germany on January 30, 1933. He quickly dissolved basic rights and withdrew Germany from the League of Nations. He enacted many laws preventing Jewish citizens from doing many of their normal, daily activities. The first electron microscope was invented in 1935 by Max Knoll. These specific microscopes were extremely popular during World War II when scientific research was exploding. The Golden Gate Bridge was constructed in 1937 with the purpose of connected San Francisco to Sausalito across the San Francisco Bay. It is a national landmark of United States and widely acknowledged as the most recognizable bridge in the world. The bridge has also been declared one of the wonders of the modern world. On September 1, 1939 Hitler made the decision to invade Poland. This prompted for Britain and France to declare war on Germany a day after. After Germany took over most of mainland Europe the allies decided it was time to run the table and attempt to take back mainland Europe one chunk at a time. They decided to start by planning D-Day. Pearl Harbor is Attacked
After the U.S. placed an embargo on German ally, Japan, Japan decided to launch a surprise attack on U.S. soil. The Japanese Empire launched a surprise attack on Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. The Japanese employed tactics never seen before such as kamikaze where the pilot of the plane would sacrifice their life to destroy enemy ships. After the attack on Pearl Harbor the U.S. declared war on Japan. This prompted Germany to declare war on the U.S. basically entering the U.S. into the war.(Biography.com) -
First Nuclear Reactor is Opened
The first nuclear reactor was opened in 1942 in Chicago. This was created as part of the Manhattan Project, when the U.S. was attempting to create the first atomic bomb. It was a complete success and was a vital part of the extensive research during the Manhattan Project.(Wetterau) -

Hitler married Eva Braun on April 29, 1945. Their marriage was extremely short-lived only lasting one day. On April 30, 1945 they both committed suicide when the allies began to close in on their bunker. (Biography.com) -
