  • Andrew Jackson

    In my opinion, Andrew Jackson's message to Congress is not just about the removal of savages and their tribes. It's also about how great America is going to be in the future. Jackson's plan on getting rid if the Indians habits and becoming civilized Christian Community. An important detail in this passage is that the savages will not be homeless, but we will pay for their land and their needs. In the end America will be civilized and everyone will be equal and free.
  • Joseph Smith

    Joseph Smith was born on December 23, 1805 in Vermont. Smith told people in 1823, he was visited by an angel by the name, Moroni, she told him about God's dealing with American Continent. In 1827, Smith received a record made of golden plate, and soon after started writing it into words and made a manuscript. This manuscript was called, "The Book of Mormon", it was published in 1830. Smith created a church called, "The Church of Jesus Christ Latter-Day Saints.

    During December 1835, Texas was trying to fight for Independence. The Alamo; mission located near San Antonio. In Feb 1836, Mexican led out a big number of people led by Antonio Lopez. At first the Mexicans were overpowering but the Alamos defenders commanded by Bowe and Travis, stayed for 13 days before Mexicans finally won the battle. Later on the Alamo thought it was a sign and fought later that year and won Independence. Texas officially gained Independence from Mexico.

    Nearly 125,000 Native Americans, but very few lived there. White settlers forced Indians out South Eastern U.S. so they can grow cotton on the savages land. Indians had died, but also sometimes picked savages along their trip. Another important detail, is the government promised the Indians that their new land would remain theirs forever, but the government stopped paying doesn't and it left them.on bad terms.

    The Mormon religion was a new advanced religion, that the white settlers criticized the Mormons for. On July 27, 1844 Smith and his brother were murdered by an ant-Mormon mob in Carthage, Illinois. So therefore, the remaining Mormons traveled to Utah's Valley of the Great Salt Lake, soon after other Mormons had followed. Them the pioneers began practices for ten of thousands of Mormon immigrants who would follow them and settle there.

    I think Manifest Destiny was about human equality, about our past and our future. Our future will be great again, America is destined to do better deeds. Equality to every individual, it states in the article that mankind will worship the Most High-- the Sacred and the True.With no doubts will America be a great, freedom, equality, and reliable country. In God's hands will this country be at it's best in the future. It will be governed by God's natural and moral law of equality.

    The Mexican War lasted from 1946-1848. The first U.S. battle in another country. Mexico was then not ready to fight against Americans. James K. Polk, who believed the U.S. had a “Manifest Destiny” came to the war. They started war at the border along Rio Grande. Whenever the war had ended the Mexicans lost and we had gained ⅓ of its land. California, Utah, Nevada, Arizona, and New Mexico became part of the U.S. continent. America had gained a lot of land from Mexico by winning a battle.
  • The Donner Party

    The Donner Party
    In 1846, 87 pioneers were lead by George Donner, they were headed to California from Springfield, Illinois. Twenty-seven wagons were loaded with supplies they need to survive. Twelve weeks after leaving they reached the Eastern Sierra Nevada Mountains. On October 31, The Donner Party attempted to climb the mountains, unfortunately five feet high snow drifts blocked their path. They had to stay alive by eating each other. It shows The Donner Family and some others by there wagons.

    The discovery of the Gold Rush in Sacramento Valley started in 1848. Gold Rush was the largest mass migration in American history. At first gold was found on ground but later on it would be found in streams and rivers. Best results were achieved with mining. The gold also helped to speed up the admission of California into the U.S. as a state. It became a law. There is people that are digging for gold in this picture.

    Brigham Young was a Mormon, baptized to the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day saints in 1832. After Joseph Smith's death in 1844, Young took over leadership. Smith directed 16,000 Mormons from IL to Utah from 1846 to 1852. 1851 Young was the first governor superintendent of Indian affairs. Young consumed the Mormon in Salt Lake City, still today you can find it there. Young was caring to all his people and Natives.
