  • Royal Proclaimation- 1763

    This treaty marked the end of the French and Indian war, and gave Britain a lot of North American land. The British had a ton of land and discouraged American colonists from settling there.They were running out of resources and it was hard for them.The British were scared that the Americans and the French were going to take over them and they are allies. They made a law in a way to not attack eachother,
  • The Sugar Act-1763

    After the war there was a ton of debt.King George wanted to lower the debt.. He was really cutting down on the smuggling .They were really strict on this. They were losing a lot of money so they inforced the sugar act. There was three things the sugar act did. N more foregin made molasses so they would pay text instead of smuggling.It placed duties on cetain imports that have not been taxed before. It also gave you a choice between courts.
  • Stamp Act-1765

    This act imposed tax on documents and printed items.A stamp would be placed on the item to say it has been paid. It really affected colonists. Some people made a group call the Sons of Liberty to stop this taxing.They protested and the act was repealed.
  • Townshend Acts of 1767

    After the stamp act ended they inforced the declaratory act. This act said to bind the colonies in all cases whatsoever.In 1766 the Parliamentary supremacy over the law was questioned only by a few people.But the ability to tax without represtaion was a promblem. The declaratory act mean the power to tax. Charles townshend created the House of Commons to tax Americans. This was an import tax.
  • Boston massacre-1770

    It was a battle between the Americans and the British. There was a ton of blood shed and it showed both sides that there is a lot more war to come.
  • Boston Tea Party-1773

    Lord North devised the tea act to not make all the people to go bankrupt. It granted the companies to sell tea to the colonies free of taxes. He hoped the American colonists would buy the cheaper tea but they did not and they protested. A bunch of Boston pretened to be Americans and went of the anchored ships that had tea on it. They dumped mass amounts of tea into the harbor.
  • Tea act of 1773

    People were mad about all the stuff being taxed like tea. Some people were a riot and burned down a boat. They recieved tea, and willing to pay tax. It was a moneopoly.
