American Declaration of Independence
The Declaration of Independance is signed, officially proclaiming the 13 Colonies as an independant nation free of Great Britian. The document began the first of many revolutions of the time period. -
The first Fleet
Between 1788 and 1850 the English sent over 162,000 convicts to Australia in 806 ships. The first eleven of these ships are today known as the First Fleet and contained the convicts and marines that are now acknowledged as the Founders of Australia. -

Edward Hargraves discovers gold near Bathurst, New South Wales, triggering several gold rushes around australia. -
American Civil War
Fought over the right to succeed from the Union and over the right of slavery. Won by the North over the South, rejoining the two into a slavery-free country. While slavery was banned, problems still lingered into the 1900's of racism, culminating in the Civil Rights Movement and the first free, equal, and democratic nation. -
Industrial Revolution
The Industrial Revolution, which had already started before the United States became a nation and lasted until the 1870s, caused a major upheaval in how Americans produced the goods they consumed and exported. In the process, the revolution also redefined how people earned a living, where they lived, and their roles at work. -
Invention of the Electric Light Bulb
Thomas Edison officially creates the first pratical electrically powered light bulb. This changed the world because it now allows for industrial processes to continue into the night due to the greater amount of light output compared to a candle. Workers can now work anytime of day. -

The first time in hstory that a machine is made that powers itself for flying. Orville and Wilbur Wright successfully started a major revolution in flying technologhy that was to affect the way we move. -
Titanic sinks
The world was shocked when the Titanic sank. The "unsinkable" ship Titanic sank on its maiden voyage, losing at least 1,517 lives, making it one of the deadliest maritime disasters in history. After the Titanic sank, safety regulations were increased to make ships safer, including ensuring enough lifeboats to carry all on board and making ships staff their radios 24 hours a day. -
Start of World War 1
World War I, also known as the First World War, was a global war centred in Europe that began on 28 July 1914. From the time of its occurrence until the approach of World War II in 1939, it was called simply the World War or the Great War, and thereafter the First World War. In America, it was initially called the European War. -
World War 1 finished
More than 9 million combatants were killed. It was the fifth-deadliest conflict in world history, paving the way for major political changes, including revolutions in many of the nations involved.
