  • The Treaty of Utrecht

    The Treaty of Utrecht was signed in 1713 and brought to an end the War of Spanish Succession between England and France. This was also when the French gave Acadia to the England.
  • Expulsion of the Acadians

    The British Crown decided to expel the Acadians because they thought the Acadians would rebel, so they gave them a choice to plead allegiance to the British Crown, be sent on boats and sent away to somewhere they never knew about or be killed. (1755-1764)
  • The Seven Years War

    The Seven Years' War was a global conflict fought between 1756 and 1763. It involved every European great power of the time and spanned five continents, affecting Europe, the Americas, West Africa, India, and the Philippines. (from 1756-171763)
  • The Battle of The Plains of Abraham

    The Battle of the Plains of Abraham was a pivotal moment in the Seven Years' War and in the history of Canada. A British invasion force led by General James Wolfe defeated French troops under the Marquis de Montcalm, leading to the surrender of Québec to the British.
  • The Stamp Act

    The Stamp Act was passed by the British Parliament and it affected all American Colonists and would make them pay taxes to everything they bought. They then later on took it away thinking that the American Colonists would revolt.
  • The Townshend Act

    A series of measures introduced into the English Parliament by Chancellor of the Exchequer Charles Townshend in 1767, the Townshend Acts imposed duties on glass, lead, paints, paper and tea imported into the colonies.
  • The Boston Tea Party

    The Boston Tea Party was a protest by the Sons of Liberty in Boston, Massachusetts.
  • The Constitution Act

    The Constitutional Act of 1791 was an Act of the British Parliament creating Upper Canada and Lower Canada.
  • The War of 1812

    The War of 1812 was a conflict fought between the United States, the United Kingdom, and their respective allies. (from 1812-1815)
  • The Rebellion of Lower Canada

    The Rebellions of 1837–1838 were two armed uprisings that took place in Lower and Upper Canada in 1837 and 1838. Both rebellions were motivated by frustrations with political reform.
