    The Council for Exceptional Children was founded by educators that advocate for children with disabilities to be successful. The council was formed to help improve the experience of education for these children. Children with disabilities need all the help they can get to make their learning experience as normal as possible.
  • The Bradley Home

    The Bradley Home
    This institution was created to take care of children with behavioral disorders. They used environmental and biological treatments to take care of and diagnose patients. This home had the materials needed to take good care of their patients.
  • Cuyahoga Council for Retarded Citizens

    Cuyahoga Council for Retarded Citizens
    To reduce the exclusion of children in Ohio, this Council was created. Ten more organizations opened shortly after the first one was founded. This Council helped students all over the country be included in classrooms.
  • NARC

    NARC
    NARC was created to be a safe place and support for children with disabilities. It assist them in learning how to live, function and work in the real world. A lot of children with disabilities suffer with socializing in the real world.
  • Brown v. Board of Education

    Brown v. Board of Education
    In this very detrimental court case, it was decided that all children can learn in the same schools and classrooms. There was to no longer be separation in educational facilities. All children were given the chance to work together no matter their color or disabilities.
  • The Special Olympics

    The Special Olympics
    This organization was founded for children and all humans with disabilities the chance to compete in sporting events. Regardless of their disabilities they were able to showcase their skills in their own way. This is a beautiful event to witness because there are no criticism toward the athletes.
  • Title XIX

    In the Social Security Act of 1965, a new program named Medicaid was created. Medicaid was created to assist low income families with health insurance and health services. Families were able to receive the financial support that they needed.

    In this crucial court case, the decision was made that students with disabilities are entitled to a public education.     ADA
    ADA supplies protection over people with disabilities. From children to adults in their place of employment, schools, public communications or when they use transportation. ADA does not allow people with disabilities to be discriminated. This organization is a huge factor in keeping these children and people safe and protected.
