    This act is known as the mainstreaming law. This requires states to provide free appropriate public education for children with disabilities ages 5-18. This act also requires the students to have IEPs.

    This act prohibits discrimination against people with disabilities in the private sector, this also includes people with AIDS. People with disabilities are also given equal opportunity to accommodations, public transportation, public services, and telecommunications.

    This act renames and replaces P.L. 94-142(EAHCA).
    This act promotes people first language, it also adds two new categories of disability: autism and traumatic brain injury. This act helps transition disabled students to get a job and succeed in life when they turn 16. The students are also given social workers, assistive technology, and rehabilitation services.
