1997- Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA): Requires the students with disabilities to received education even if they are expelled, include in the IEP team teachers and behavioral plan if is need it, and offers mediation options. -

Individuals with Disabilities Education Improvement Act
2004- Individuals with Disabilities Education Improvement Act (IDEIA) : Eliminates short term IEP goals, raises special education licensure standards, and adopts policies to prevent over-representing minority students in special education.
