    I was a 5th grade teacher at Kempsville Meadows Elementary School in VA Beach when our school installed Mosaic, one of the first publicly availble Internet browswers ,on my computer. I can still remember the shock and excitement I felt as I waited minutes for web pages to load on my computer. I knew this thing called the World Wide Web was going to change the world (and my profession as an educator)

While I am not a fan of for-profits in education, I could not resist the opportunity to try online teaching. I recognized immediately that we needed to figure out how to make online learning work in the College of Education at UF.
