Civil Disobedience Begins
In South Africa the law stated many things against the Indian which did not benefit them at all. All Indians had to be finger printed and the soldier and government people could enter their houses without permission. This caused concern to Ghandi which talked to the indian people about civil disobedience. -

The British had promised the Indian's that if they joined the British war and help them the British would provide several right and make the reformes they promised in benefit of the Indian's, but the British did not care about this and still treated them like second class people. -
Rowlatt Act
Indians protest started to warn the British which were tired of so many protests, the British government passed an act calles the Rowlatt Act which allowed them to send protesters to jail for at least 2 years without trial. -
Amristar Massacre
Both Hindus and Muslims went to Amristar to pray and listen to political speaches, this was in a way to silently protest against the Rowlatt Act and the British. The government had recently banned public meeting and they saw this uniting as a challenge and rebellion against the government, so they opened fire killing 400 Indians and leaving 1,200 wounded. -
Civil Disobedience
Ghandi became known as the ruler of the Independent Movement right after the massacre. The Congress Party endorsed "Civil Disobedience" which is the deliberated and public refusal to obey an unjust law, and nonviolence as the means to achieve independence -
Boycotts
Ghandi, in a plan to protest against the British, told all the Indians to stop buying British goods, and to weave their own clothing, instead of buying and wearing the cloths the British provided, as well as to stop attending government schools, to not pay their taxes nor vote in elections. This did had an impact in British economy. -

Salt March
Protesting against the Salt Act, which implied that Indians were only allowed to buy British salt and they had to pay a lot of tax on it, Ghandi and his followers marched all the way to the seacoast were they started collecting seawater and evaporating it to get salt, this march caused Ghandi and other 60,000 people to get arrested. -
