    Webster created the first American Spelling book. Noah Webster through his spelling book taught millions of American Children to read for the first half century and millions more spell for the other half century.
  • Plessy v. Ferguson

    Plessy v. Ferguson
    This came to be known as "Separate but Equal". The ruling of this case upheld a state law in Louisiana that allowed for equal but separate accommodations for African Americans and Whites. Basically the African Americans were segregated from the whites, but still were allowed to go to school.
