Blaise Pascal
During the 17th century many of these machines that could solve mathmatical equations were invented. The most famous was the one created by Blaise Pascal who was a Frenchman who created a machine that could calculate up to 8 digits. -
Joseph-Marie and his weaving loom
Joseph-Marie jacquard created a weaving loom in 1801 that used punch cards to replicate designs. This was a huge step for computer input. -
Charles Babbage
Charles Babbage created the difference engine. -
Herman Hollerith
In 1890 Herman Hollerith created a punched card calculater to create the US cencus. The 1880 cencus had required more than 7 years to count. -
Lee De Forest.
Lee De Forest created an electronic tube. -
Howard H. Aiken
computer developed at Harvard University was the first programmed controlled calculated. It worked from punched cards or paper tapes.This was very close to being a fully operrational computer. -
Colossus
In 1943 computer named Colossus was created in Great Britain
