The ENIAC I
The ENIAC was invented, it was enormous, but it could perform many interesting things for that era. It was invented by John Presper Eckert and John W. Mauchly. -
UNIVAC
The same inventors that made the ENIAC made the UNIVAC. They were John Presper Eckert and John W. Mauchly. The UNIVAC was the first computer able to be commericially bought. It worked with numbers and letters quite well. In later years managed to predict the winner of the 1952 presidnetial election. -
IBM enters the computer business
In 1953 IBM made their first computer and they created the 701 IBM EDPM. They were mainly used by the military and they would help with defense. They were also used for things like meteorology. -
The Mouse is made
In 1964, Douglas Engelbert made the computer mouse, it was a new technology that would change how a computer was used. It was easy for anybody to use. -
The Intel 4004 Microprocessor
In 1971, Federico Faggin, Ted Hoff, and Stanley Mazor made the first microprocessor chip. It put previous technologies from the computer that took up lots of space and made something that could do their processes and was much smaller. -
MITS Altair 8800
In 1975 a new computer was made, it was afforable and was available to the public. It was still expensive, but not outrageously expensive. -
Apple I
Steve Wozniak worked at HP so he proposed to make a personal computer, but he was rejected. So then Steve Jobs and him made the Apple I computer. They also started the company, "Apple". -
IBM Personal Computer
In 1981 IBM made a new personal computer, it was very compact for computers of that era, but it worked slowly. It was used by businesses and it was used in homes. It was a great invention in the computer age. -
Apple Macintosh
A great inevtion was made in 1984 from the Apple Company. It was a moderately cheap computer with GUI, which made everything easier It has many functions and is very helpful. -
Google
In 1998 one of the world's greatest search engines, Google was introduced. It could be used to search for so many websites on the Internet. Now the company is very rich and successful. -
YouTube
On this date the website YouTube is put on the Internet, it became a very successful website. It has many purposes such as education, entertainment, or a tutorials. You can watch videos on so many different things and if you have an account you can even upload your own videos. -
WIndows 10
Windows 10 is released in 2014. It brings back the start menu which people liked a lot and introduces Cortana, who can be a personal assistant for you. They also gave it more security and many other great features. -
Computers Communicate WIth Humans
In the future we could have computers that you can talk with. DARPA is working on this project and they learned that it will be hard to pull off this project but they are doing lots of tests to advance this technology. -
Optical Computers
In the future we will have computers that use photons instead of electricity to compute. They will work much faster and smoother. They are being tested and worked upon already. -
DNA Computers
In the future computers are apparently going to use DNA for storage. They will be able to hold more information and make incredible calculations. It is a crazy concept but scientists are working on making it a parat of our future.
