when the natives came to America they had nothing and they were sepporated from there families. They were forced to live how normal Americans live. -
immigration/industrialzation/urban
The immigrants that came to America didnt have the money to live the normal American life. So they had to work in bad workin conditions and made little pay once indusrialism came slong the immigrants worked in factories and were running that machinery. Because of the immigration alot of jobs were takin up and alot of born Americans found it hard to get jobs. -
immperialism
Imperialism greatly benefited the United States in the early 1900’s. Imperialism acted upon less developed countries to make them successful and able to thrive. Imperialism morally benefited both countries’ in that free trade became possible, America gained land, and economic development occurred. -
WW1
In late June 1914 Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria was killed by a syberian nationalist. Threats and mobilization orders followed the incident. leading by mid-August to the start of World War I which pitted Germany, Austria-Hungary and the Ottoman Empire against Great Britain, France, Russia, Italy and Japan. The Allies were joined after 1917 by the United States. -
1920'S
In the 1920's cars became a nessesity. Auto sales were very high. The 20's was also the era when the stock market crashed.When the Stock Market crashed that was a big part of the great depression. Other resons for the great deppression was buying on credit. People would keep buying credit and get deeper and deeper into debt. Then when they would go to the bank to get the money to pay it off the banks lost all there money. That was another reson for the depression. -
progressivism
Progessivism was the idea that people would start reforms to better the way bussines interacts with the people. It really started in big cities and where there was alot of big places of bussines where the people that work are being treated bad and where the places they work were in bad condition. -
The great deppression
The great depperssion happened because everyone lost there money through the bank the stock market and became in debt thought "easy credit"(this allowed you to purchase items with out money. A huge percentage of America was out of there jobs therefore bosting the crime rate. It bosted the crime rate because people became desprate having no money, so they run to steeling, since car were a huge thing now, theft, muging what ever they had to do to make there way. -
WW2
The United States got dragged into the war because the japenesse surise attacked us. the suicide bombed a navel base in Hawaii. Once WW2 stared for us and we were very much in the war people in the U.S. thought that japenese americans were giving the axis power (japan there home land) information. The U.S. took it seriouly and put all the japs in a camp so no information can get out. It turned out that the people giving all the information was i think 5 white guys born in the U.S. -
The Cold War/Korean War/1950's
Comunism spreding during the years following World War 2, creating compitition, fear, and no trust in the 1950's.the Korean war begins as a result of the United Nations police defending the soulthern Koreans. -
JFK/LBJ/civil rights
JFK set a foundation for setting civil rights for people that are minorities in 1964. When he won his election more then 70% were african American. The Civil Rights Act in 1964 is the nations benchmark civil rights legislation and it continues to be here in America. The Civil Rights Act of 1964 prohibits discrimination on the race, color, religion, sex or national origin. -
vietnam and the watergate
The U.S. was involved in the vietnam war beacause our mission was to stop the spread of comunism. Noth Vietnam wanted to take over soulth Vietnam as a one communist country obiously the soulth disagreed and began fighting. The fights were gorilla warfare.
The watergate in the 60s was all the votes in the election that year were rigged to relect Richard Nixion. The people later found out and he had to step down from office. -
