He was crowned at the age of 9 years old when his father died and became "Lord Protector".

One of the most important achievement of Edward VI's short reign while trying to make the church of England more Protestant : the publication of the Book of the Common Prayer. -

Mary I's reign
She was the daughter of Henry VIII and Catherine of Aragon and the first queen regnant ever.
She married Phillip II of Spain.
She wanted to restore Catholicism and make an alliance with the Habsburg empire.
She engaged England, allied with Spain,in a war against France. Calais was lost.
She died in 1558. -

Elizabeth was a sincere protestant.

After Mary’s reign, Queen Elizabeth I reaffirmed the authority of the Queen over the Church, she became “Supreme Governor of the Church of England”. -

Death penalty for converts; Catholic mass forbidden. About 150-200 persons were killed during the repression. -
The failing attempt of invading Britain
The King of Spain Philipp II will send the Spanish Armada to invade Britain. Due to weather conditions and a good naval strategy, the “invincible” armada will be defeated. Huge victory, at a symbolic and diplomatic level.
