Invention of Television
BiographyAt the very start of television technology there were two different paths that the television's technology would go, The mechanical T.V. which was based off of Paul Nipkow's rotating disk technology and there was The electronic T.V. which was based off of The Cathode Ray Tube invented by A.A. Cambell-Swinton and a Russian scientist Boris Rosing. In the end we used the electronic system because it worked better and all the mechanical systems were replaced. -
Jazz Age
BiographyIn America the 1920s was known as The Jazz Age, The Roaring Twenties or The Golden Twenties. The youth of this era set themselves 'free' especially the young women, and shocked the elderly and older people with their new haircuts, (a short bob), and with the clothes that they wore which were significantly shorter than what they would usually wear. When they were out in the public they were called 'Flappers'. -

Before the street market crash Australia had 10% of people without jobs and after the crash it more than doubled to 21% and in 1932 it left almost 32% of Australians without a job. -

BiographyWorld War 2 started because Adolf Hitler and the whole of germany didn't like the agreements for The Treaty of Versailles.
This caused Hitler to take all the land back that was taken from Germany and too build up their military again but what caused the start of World War 2 was the fact that Hitler invaded Poland, at that point France and Britain declared war on Germany, hence starting WWII -
Japanese Attack of Pearl Harbour
BiographyDurng the morning the Japanese launched a surprise attack onto the U.S Naval Base at Pearl Harbour in Hawaii after only 2 hours of bombing the Japanese had killed over 2,100 Americans and 21 ships were either damaged or destroyed. After this event America was so enraged they declared war on Japan officialy entering WWII. -
Bombing of Darwin
BiographyThe bombing of darwin happened only 10 weeks after pearl harbour and was ordered by the same general. The attack had 2 waves the first attacked the ports and hospitals and lasted about 40 minutes and started only just before 10am and the second wave attacked The Royal Australian Airforce base, this lasted for about 20-25 minutes. The 2 raids killed at least 243 people and wounded 300-400 poeple. -
Atomic Bombing of Hiroshima
BiographyAt 8:16 (Japanese Time) an American B-29 Bomber, Nicknamed Enola Gay, Dropped The World's First Atomic Bomb, Nicknamed Little Boy. Little Boy Was Detonated 1,900 Feet In The Air And Was Equivalent To 12,500 Tons Of TNT. The Bomb Killed About 80,000 People From The Explosion, 35,000 People Were Injured And Another 60,000 People Would Die By The End Of The Year. -
