In only four years the 60% of the people that were in trops were death. This war is one of the worst of the history. It started with the attack of Austro-Hungarian empire to Serbia and finished with the Treaty of Versailles signed in France. -
Assassination of Archduke Ferdinand
The archduke Ferdinand of Austria and his wife were shot by a Bosnian nationalist during an official visit to Sarajevo, the capital of Bosnia. The killings were the outbreak to start the World War I. -
Austria-Hungary declares war on Serbia
Autria-Hungary sent an ultimatum to Serbia demanding to allow them to investigate the Archduke's assessination or they would attack them. Serbia didn't accept so the First World War began. -
German troops enter Belgium
Germany declared war to France. They had to attack France from the north because the rest of the borders were with fortifications, Belgium didn't allow them to pass so they entered by force and it was invaded. -

Bolshevik storm the Winter Palace
The Bolsheviks saw the Winter Palace as a symbol of Tsarist order and also as the ineffective administration that held power in its place. In this attack they assessinated the Tsar. -
Russia signs armistice with Germany
After their accession to power in Russia, the Bolsheviks, led by Vladimir Lenin, had argued with the Central Powers to arrange an armistice and withdraw from the war because they saw it as an obstacle to their plan of providing food and land to the Russian peasant population. -
Russia signs the Treaty of Brest-Litovsk
This treaty ended with the participation of Russia in the World War. It was signed in Brest-Litovsk after 2 months of negociations. As a result of it 11 nations became independent in Asia and Europe. In this treaty, Russia, Germany, Autria-Hungary, Bulgaria and the Ottoman empire were involved. -
Armistice
The armistice signed at Le Francport ended the fighting on land, sea, and air between the Allies and their last opponent, Germany. The German government sent a message to the American president to negotiate the terms, but later German will surrender in Paris in the Treaty of Versailles. -
Treaty of Versailles is signed
It was signed in the Palace of Versailles, France. It ended with the Great War, it outlined the conditions of peace between Germany and the victorious Allies, that were United States, France, and the United Kingdom.
