The great race for space finally came to a conclusion once America sent the first Astronauts to walk on the moon. the Apollo 11 mission was a success and landed on the moon on July 20th 1969. -
26th Amendment
on March 23, 1971 the 26th Amendment was ratified by the United States congress. This amendment granted all US citizens over the age of 18 the right to vote. -
Watergate Scandal
The Watergate Scandal was a political scandal that exposed the Nixon party. This scandal came about when robbers had been caught in government buildings. It was found out that these criminals had tapped into phones, placed mics into other politicians offices, and many other devious things. Nixon was shown to be linked to all of these activities and resigned shortly after.
