    Brown V Topeka Board
    The Brown V Topeka Board of Education was a landmark case were the U.S. Supreme Court made a decision that "segregated but equal" schools for black and white school children was unfair, prejudice and unconstitutional reversing the previous decision made in the Plessy V Ferguson case in 1894, which made schools based on racial lines legal.This ruling supports the needs of students with disabilities because it ensure that all children regardless of their ethnic,background haves the same chance.
  • Pennsylvania Association for Retarded Children (PARC) v. Commonwealth of Pennsylvania,

    Fourteen families sued the state of Pennsylvania because their children were denied public education due to their intellectual disability. The court ruled that students with intellectual disabilities be allowed to attend public school, the students are place in general classrooms, preschool programs are made available, and that students records are easily accessible to their parents and also that all placement decisions allow parent participation.
  • Marshall et al v. Georgia

    The ruling for this case was that over-representation of African Americans in special education classes was unjust. This case highlighted the need to include adaptive behavior within the classroom as part the requirements for determining mild intellectual disability. The positive results of this case is that it gives students with disabilities equal treatment and results, fairness, and different placement criteria.
  • Honig V Doe

    The supreme court issued a decree that school system can not exclude students with disabilities from the classroom because of disruptive or dangerous behavior. This ruling makes a difference in the lives on students with disabilities because it sets expectations in the classroom for all students and it gives the students a chance to get adjusted to changes in their environment.
