French and Indian War (Seven Year's War)
A war between the French and British. The French was expanding along the Ohio River. The British didn't like the French epanding because conflit with the claims for the British colonies. Because of the French and Indian War caused England to gain massive amounts of land, but it ended relationships with th Native American and caused England to have a worst relationship with the colonies which led to the American Revolution. -
Stamp Act
The Stamp Act taxed newspaper, legal documents, playing cards, and other important documents. The only things that wasn't taxed was books. The people that were most affected by this act was lawyers, ministers, printers and merchants. This was significant to the American Revolution it taxed the colonist without their consent which angred them. -
Stamp Act Congress
Representatives from nine of the British Colonies in North America. The plan of the representatives was to devise a collective protest against new British taxation - specifically the Stamp Act of 1765. Because of the Stamp Act is caused a strain with the English later on causing the American Revolution to happen. -
Townshend Duties
The Townshend Duties was an act passed by English Parliament to collect revenue from the coloinst in America. These duties were put on lead, glass, paints, paper, and tea. When the Townshend Duties was repealed every tax except for tea. This was small truce for England and the colonies before American Revolution happened. -
Boston Massacre
Boston Massacre was between "patriot" mob, throwing snowballs, stones, and sticks, and a squad of British soldiers. The Boston Massacre was a signal event leading to the Revolutionary War. -
Tea Act
The act’s main purpose was not to raise revenue from the colonies, but to bail out the plunge East India Company, a major part of the British ecomomy. By English putting a tax on tea it caused Boston Tea Party to happen which caused major effects later on. -
Boston Tea Party
The Boston Tea Party was a political protest by the Sons of Liberty in Boston. They were disguised as American Indians, and destroyed an entire shipment of tea sent by the East India Company. This event led both sides closer to war. -

Series of laws sponsored by British Prime Minister Lord North and enacted in 1774 in response to the Boston Tea Party.

Quarting Act
Was one of the Intolerable Acts. Designed to force local colonial governments to provide provisions and housing to British soldiers stationed in the 13 Colonies of America. Its one of the many causes for the American Revolution to happen. -
1st Continental Congress
On September 5, 1774, 56 delegates were sent from each of the 13 colonies to meet in Philadelphia as representatives of the First Continental Congress. They wouldcease importing any goods from Great Britain. September of the following year, they would cease exporting any goods to Great Britain. This helped America have its own governent. Five years later, the Congress ratified the first national constitution, the Articles of Confederation, until the country would be governed until 1789.
