Was a report commissioned by the Mexican government to investigate the conditions in North Texas.Gen.Manuel Mier y Teran reported that there were more Anglo-American living in the area then Mexicans. The report also stated that the colonists were ignoring the law restricting slavery in texas. -

The Fredonia Rebellion was an effort by the Haden Edwards and his brother declaring that Mexico could no longer control their area(Nacogdoches). The rebellion was stopped by Stephen F. Austin. -
Decree of April 6, 1830
The law of April 6 was passed in response to the Mier y Teran report. the law banned Anglo immigration, canceled unfulfilled impresario grants, encourage European immigration, banned slavery, and imposed taxes on goods coming into the US. -
Anahuac
Anahuac is a city in the U.S. state of Texas. The population of the city was 2,243 at the 2010 census. Anahuac is the seat of Chambers County and is situated in Southeast Texas. The Texas Legislature designated the city as the "Alligator Capital of Texas" in 1989. Anahuac hosts an annual alligator festival. -

Arrest of stephen F. Austin
Stephen F. Austin was arrested and charged with treason because of a letter he wrote, prior to his meeting with Santa Anna (to discuss grievance) encouraging Texans to form their own.
