My best friend
Meeting my best friend Amanda Banks the day i was born is an important milestone to me because she is still my best freind to this day. Meeting my first friend is an example of social development because i learnt how to communicate with her at a young age and we still communicate as we've matured.This taught me what freindship was all about and that real friends last a life time. -

WHO AM I
These are 10 very important milestones that stood out to me when thinking about this assigment, each event shows a clear understanding of either Social,Emotional,Intellectual or Cognitive Development. Each event has helped shape me as a person today and helped me grow up to be who i am today -
My first steps
I believe that my first steps was an important milestone in my life because it is something every parent waits for and can be proud of their babies for. Taking my firt steps is an example of two things, it can be catagorized under intellectual development because i was learning a new process, along with the support from my family ,i was teaching myself how to walk as i developed and was able to learn this motor function. This could also be a physical development because i was physically moving -
Sports
I started playing sports at a young age, I started t-ball when i was four and have continued my whole life in higher more competitive leagues. Some other sports i played when i was young are basketball,Judo,Swimming andGymnastics, in high school i did Wrestling and Rugby. This is an example of Cognitive development because i had to learn to do the process of the sport(hand&eye coordination for baseball), it can also be physical because all of the sports i play are very physical. -
Parents splitting up
When i was in grade four my parents split up, this was hard on me because family means everything at a young age. I would say this is an important milestone in my life because it changed me as a person. This is an example of Emotional Development because it was very hard on me and i had to cope with living in two different houses, i attended councling and also had to learn how to communicate with her and let her know the hurt i was feeling -
Moving
As a result to my parents splitting up we ended up having to move, moving meant i needed to start over and change schools and meet new friends. I left JFCharmicheal and went to Southridgge for grade 5 and 6. This is an example of Social and Emotional development because i had to communicate with new people, it was very emotional leaving my old freinds and old house and starting over with nothing. This taught me that meeting new people is a great experience and it can be good to get a fresh start -
Angel
Angel was my very own first pet, Amanda gave me my precious kitten on my eleventh birthday. Angel is still apart of our family today and i love her more and more each day. I believe this is an important milestone in my life because it gave me my very first responsibility. This is an example of Intellectual Development because having angel showed me what its like to have to take care of something and love something of my own. -
My first Job
I got my very first job at Giant Tiger when i was in grade 10, this was a very exciting time for me because i got to make my own money and be independent and responsible. This is an important milestone for me because i have put 3 years of hard work into my job and taught me work ethic. This is an example of Intellectual ,Social and Physical Development because i learnt the skill of the job, learnt how to asociate with costomers and my job is very physical. -
My first serious boyfriend
When i was in grade ten i had my first serious relationship. This is a very important milestone in my life because everyone falls in love at some point. This is an example of Emotional and Social development because it taught me how to care about someone in a different way than id care about freinds or family,it also showed a sign of maturity. It was very emotional durring the break up because i had to learn to move on and live with the drastic change without him -
G1
I got my G1 a year late because driving has always scared me, now that ive learnt to drive i love it. This is an example of Intellectual Development because i taught myself a new skill, i learnt how to drive on the roads and park and control the whole car in general. I also studied and taught myself the rules or driving. This is an important milestone because it represents freedom and maturity -
Graduation/Future
Graduation is something im very excited about,this is an important milestone in everyone's life because Its a sign of accomplishment, I believe that this is an example of Intellectual and Emotional Development because you're taking the information you learnt in highschool and making a career out of something you love, it can also be very emotional not seeing the same freinds everyday anymore going away for school and going your own way and following your own dreams.
