Henry divorces Catherine of Aragon
As the only sons that Catherine had bore him had died as babies (Although her daughter later became Mary II), Henry divorced her after nearly 24 years of marraige, claiming that he shouldn't marry his brother's wife. In doing so, he seperated from the catholic church to create his own church, The Church of England. This was because the Pope disagreed with him about the divorce. -

As with Catherine, Anne Boleyn bore him only a girl, Elizabeth, and a stillborn boy. So Henry asked Thomas Cromwell to hatch a plot and then had her beheaded. -

Jane Seymour gave birth to a boy, who would later become Edward VI, but died in childbirth. Henry was devasted when she died, because she had born him a male heir. When Henry died in 1547, he was buried next to her. -

When Jane Seymour died, Henry immediately started looking for a new wife. Hans Holbien the Younger went to Germany and painted a flattering painting of Anne. Henry agreed to marry her. -
