Both men and women need to learn how to preform self exams at this age.

    Eating healthily and exercising regularly are now very important as your metabolism begins to slow down. Try to build muscle. Cut down on sodium. Getting 6 to 8 hours of sleep is integral as well. Be sure to avoid back injuries, as this is the age where they usually start. Start to scan for cancers, and women should continue to get pap smears and regular OBGYN visits. In addition, it is important to keep one's cholesterol in check.

    Continue practicing healthy habits. Chronic pain is now more prevalent, as well as higher cholesterol, weight gain and osteoporosis. Be sure to cut down on foods with high cholesterol. For men, erectile dysfunction becomes a far more likely prospect. Skin issues now arise, with wrinkles and elasticity loss. Hearing and vision loss also happen. Continue with the examinations of your previous years, but also begin to consider colonoscopies.

    Continue healthy practices, especially for women as menopause only slows the metabolism. Eat foods that are less processed, with low sodium and cholseterol. Cancer, hair loss, diabetes and some mental illnesses are all more common at this age. For women, menopause begins, changing the amount of hormones in your body. For men, prostate issues often tend to arise at this part of their lives. Colonoscopies begin to be common at this age. Cancer screenings should also increase due to age.

    Healthy practices must continue. In addition, learn the warning signs for stroke and heart attack. Start to look for exercises that harm your joints less, and continue to exercise as to prevent heart disease. Cancer screenings, check ups, colonoscopies and the shingles vaccine are all important. Despite having gone through menopause, it is still important for women to go to the OBGYN. Learn what to do if you fall, and the warning signs of age related mental illnesses.
