Haitian Revolution
The Haitian Revolution lasted from 1791 until 1804. Slaves in Haiti decided to revolt against slavery, and intend to make it a state without slavery. The slaves fought for freedom, and this revolt scared those in places other than Haiti. This rebellion was also one of the most successful, and it led to one of the most successful anti-slavery rebellions. This entire rebellion was inspired by The French Revolution, which led to the events that took place in Haiti. -
Latin American Wars of Independence (North, Simon Bolivar)
The Latin American Wars of Independence, started with Mexico intending to gain independence, and failing. People continued revolting against the Spanish, but always ended up becoming unsuccessful. There was a time in which they did beat the Spanish, making it a victory that led to the independence the Latin's American Wars for Independence had. After winning their last battle, the Latin American colonies were independent, and were separated from other colonies, especially any Spanish rulers. -
Mexican War of Independence
The Mexican War of Independence took part because of social, and political things that were currently happening. This allowed Spain to end their ruling in 1821, which was basically the primary goal. The people did not want Mexico to continue to be ruled by the Spanish, which resulted in people choosing to make groups like the Royalists, and side against the Spanish. The Royalists able to achieve in intelligently getting Spain to lack in certain things, forcing them to give Mexico independence. -
Greek Revolution
The Greek Revolution was very successful and it was against the Ottoman Empire. Eventually European places began to assist the Greek, while other places like with the Ottoman Empire. Although, Greece has to be under the rule of the Ottoman Empire they seeker independence. They made the Filiki Eteria, and then revolts started to quickly take place. The Ottomans for Egypt to help them and they succeeded in gaining territory. Russia, Britian, & France helped them get independence, with a treaty. -
Latin American Wars of Independence (South, San Martin)
The Latin American Wars of Independence (South, San Martin), first began in Mexico.The Spanish power began to weaken, and with the Venezuelan Independence, power began to decrease even more. San Martin helped people defeat the Spanish in 1817. Becoming one of the first real victories against the Spanish. Soon, the conquering of South America started to upraise and the Latin American colonies began to separate into different colonies. The Spanish rule was destroyed. -
Romanticism
This was an age of music, literature, a moment of all things romantic. This included just about anything and everything romantic, or that has to do with romance. Everything including art, medieval things, and like anything that has to do with romance, it included drastic emotional aspects. With things around like the French Revolution, and more, people needed a movement that would guide people into a different direction, with more opportunities, and enlightening ideas. -
German Unification
The German Unification included Camillo di Cavour, whom wanted Italy to become a unification country and Otto von Bismarck wanted Germany to become a unification country. Camillo di Cavour had made alliances, and eventually had a conflict with Austria, leading to the "Seven Weeks War" which he won. He then lied about a letter to the poles. Franco, then declared the "Franco-Prussian War", and lost. Forcing them to make peace with Germany, and allowing Prussia to have the German Empire. -
Italian Unification
The Italian Unification was when there was a social and political movement that was capable of making Italy stronger. There was an Italian congress that had to do with the Italian Unification, that took place. This congress allowed there to be a capital in Italy, which was turned into Rome. This event was very political, and things such as this, and it became one of the most political events in Italian history. All of the politics and changes in the capital, made it a very important event. -
Brazilian Independence
The Brazilian Independence mostly took place regarding the independence between Brazil, and Portugal. Eventually, they never saw eye-to-eye, when it came down to independence. Eventually, on September 7th 1822, Brazil gained its independence. After long reigning with Portugal, and never seeing eye-to-eye, this is what they agreed was best. In order for this to be official, they decided to sign a treaty, regarding the independence Brazil is now entitled to. -
