1st Arab-Israeli Conflict
The day after Israel was created war broke out. Syria, Egypt, and Jordan invaded because they voted against Israel becoming a country. The Jews know this as the War of independence. The Gaza Strip is given to Egypt, The West bank is given to Jordan, and Israel gains 50% of the original Arab State. -
2nd Arab-Israeli Conflict
When Egypt wanted funding to prevent flooding they asked the US and Britain for funding. They agreed but under the condition that Egypt recognized Israel as a country. They refused and seized the Suez Canal preventing trade around the Eurasia-Africa area. France and Britain make a deal with Israel. The Israeli's invaded Egypt and France and Britain bombed Cairo. This Conflict was called the Suez Crisis called because the Suez Canal was shut down. This was stopped once The UN arranged a truce. -
1st Intifada
This was a series of Palestinian protests and violent riots. This took place in the West Bank, Gaza Strip, and within Israel. The protests were against the Israeli occupation of the West Bank and Gaza Strip. -
2nd Intifada
The Second Intifada, also known as the Al-Aqsa Intifada. This was a Palestinian uprising against Israel. The cause for the uproar was the violence that was proposed as the failure of the 2000 Camp David Summit to reach a final agreement on the Israeli-Palestinian peace. -
How have things changed? How have they stayed the same?
As seen in the previous dates there have been lots of conflicts and fighting and death this will probably continue though out the future of the middle east. Who the conflict has been with has changed over time. I presume that there will be more changes in who the conflict is with.
