Jamestown Colony
A group of people of 100 ventured to Virginia Company the was founded by English settlement in North America. Diseases and conflict nearly brough Jamestown to failure before the arrival of the new members. Jamestown was English Colony first Permanent colony. The company was supported supported by King James I to support English national goals of the expanision of other nations who were seeking passage to the new land. This event was huge, because this was the start of new beginnings. -
English Civil Wars
These led up to a period known as the Restoration. The English Civil Wars were conflict between Charles I and Parliament over Irish insurrection. The first war was over Oliver Cromwell's sucess of Parliamentary which caused the battle of Naseby. Charles' was defeated in the Battle of Preston. In the end of it all, Irish and Scottish last war was fought on English Soil. -

The 7 years war was a huge effect on England because it was when they declared war on France. The conflict began when France went armed conflict with British colonies. It took place in London at Hyde Park. It was the first World's Fair of culture and industry. It was organized by Henry Cole and Prince Albert. Many famous people such as Charles Darwin, Samuel Cold, and members of the Orleanist Royal Family. Music was opening under the direction of Sire George Smart. This was important because it opened up to new ideas to the public of the United Kingdom -
Opening of the Albert Memorial
The memorial was made in memeory of Queen Victoria beloved husband, Queen Victoria. The king died of typhoid in 1861. The memorial was made by Sir Geroge Gilbert Scott. When it opened to the pulbic, Queen Victoria I had Albery's stature ceremonially placed in 1875. This was an important event due to the lost of the king. Queen Victoria showed her husband legacy through the fine golden statue of her husband. -
World War I Outbreak, United Kingdom becomes hostile toward Germnay
When Germany wouldn't move away from the ports in Belgium, The United Kingdom declared war. They also caused Japan to get involved in the war because of the 1902 alliance treaty that had been signed. In the battle of Ypres, Britain lost a huge number of men. Then the British and German naval forces met in battle, and even though the German ships did huge damage to the British Naval fleat, the Germans soon retreated. If they never got into the war, these events would have never happened. -
United Kingdom enters World War 2
The United Kingdom entered WW2 on September 3rd, 1939 along side France, Australia and New Zealand. The United Kingdom entered after the invasion of Poland. The United Kingdom had the most powerful army when they entered World War 2. Likes The United States and Russia, they played a huge role in liberating France and defending the Axis Powers. However, World War 2 weakend the UK and increased nationhood. This War caused the United Kingdom to gain a number of Allies. -
The Festival of Britain
The Festival of Britain began in May and ended on September 30th, 1951. Six years after World War II, the kingdom held great damage, and in attempt to recover, they held the Festival that lasted for almost five months. It celebrated British industry, arts, and science. This event was important, because it was a way for the British to recover after their lost in the both World Wars. The Festival was 27 acres and was untouched by the bombing. -
Elizabeth the II becomes queen
Elizabeth the second becomes queen at the age of 25 years old. No one exprected the princess to become queen. This was very important to the british country, because someone new was coming into power of their country. Also, Queen Elizabeth's father wasn't suppose to be king, but when the King's older brother fell in love with an American who had already been married, he stepped down from the line to have the throne. -
Wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton
50,000 people attended the royal wedding, and was a very important event due to the two pairing becoming the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. Prince William is the son of Prince Charles who is the son of Queen Elizabeth II, making him in line for the throne of England. Now, with the two paired and married, the royal line will continue on.
