French and Indian War ends
The British paid for the security of the colonies during the war. But then they noticed that it was a drain of money so the stoped. -
Stamp Act Passed
Parliament decided to tax the colonies for printed items including newspapers, legal documents, etc. The colonists were angry about this. -
Stamp Act Congress
Members gathered up to discuss about the rights of the citizens in the colonies. They said that the only thing that would charge them taxes would be their own government. -
Stamp Act Repealed
Brittain got mad about the congress meeting so they decided to repeal the act. Now after that, they decided to pass another act. -
Declaratory Act
The act stated that the British government had all the power and authority to pass laws without the consent of the people in the colonies. Even the laws that the colonies decided to pass, the British had the power to repeal the laws. -
Townsend Act
This act taxed British imports such as glass, tea, lead, paint, etc. And as usual, the colonies were mad. -
Boston Massacre
In this day, 5 colonists were killed. This was the Boston Massacre -
Tea Act
This allowed only the East India Company to sell tea to the colonies. The tea act didnt raise much money -
Boston Tea Party
In December, people dressed as Indians boarded a ship and threw a ton of tea into the harbor. The British then passed the Coercive Acts. -

There were five acts that were passed by the British parliament. The colonists were done with the British rule. -
1st Continental Congress
A meeting to discuss the coercive acts. They wanted to remove this act from their government -
Revolutionary War Begins
It began in 1775 but before the war even began, the 2nd continental congress was formed to finally sign the declaration of independence. Right after that, the war started. -
2nd Continental Congress
It was the time in which the Declaration of independence was signed.at this time, the revolutionary war began. -
Declaration of Independence Signed
Finally, the declaration of independence as signed. In August 2nd !777
