Joan of Arc was born. This woman helped the French win England in the Hundred Years war. She was the leader of the siege of Orleans. Joan of Arc had received messages from god and took actions according to the voice from god. She is the first medieval woman to take charge if an army, must less win the battle. He studied anatomy and made discovers in science. He created a prototype of a flying machine where the design was used to make airplane. Leonardo da Vinci also studied the human body and discovered the functions and how the inner organs of a human worked. Leonardo da Vinci made huge accomplishments we use today. -

The protestant reformation was important because people like Martin Luther stood up against the corrupt Catholic Church. Many people pulled themselves out of the catholic and made different Christian religions. Some of the Protestant religions founded were Lutheran, Calvinism, and Baptist. Christianity now has many different branches to it now. Without the Protestant Reformation the people would have still been under the corrupt catholic rule. The people gain greater rights within Christianity. -

Socrates was born. Socrates was considered a rebel in Athens. He challenged young minds to questions authority and think critically. Socrates was a lover of the truth and created logic. He believed that knowledge was the answer to all problems. Socrates encouraged people to think outside of the box and think for themselves. Without him we would not have expanded our ideas of thinking and increase our knowledge by asking questions. He was a great philosopher. -

This is when Islamic scholars began translating Classical Greek works into Arabic. The Greeks made many accomplishments and published works about them. Without the Islamic scholars translating the works the accomplishments and knowledge that the Greeks knew would not have spread. The spread of Greek knowledge such as mathematics, astronomy, democracy, and architecture would not have spread throughout the world, helping others. The Islamic scholars help spread useful information.
