    The armenian genocide was caused by the ottoman empire with hopes for the absolute destruction of the Armenians. 1,800,000 million armenians were killed through forced marches which were designed to kill the victims while they were being deported out of the country. Much of what hitler knew of genocide was from the armenian genocide.

    The Holodomor was a famine in ukraine caused by Joseph Stalin and the Soviet Union which claimed the lives of approxmently 8 million people. The attack on the Ukrainian nationalism has been debated as both a genocide or an unfortunant series of natural disasters, and the holodomor is recognized as a genocide in only 13 countries worldwide.

    The holocaust was the genocide aimed to eradicate the Jewish population from Europe. It was caused by Adolf Hitler under his reign over Nazi Germany. The holocaust killed two thirds of the Jewish population were killed (6 million people). Jews were often forced to do hard labour for endless hours and were starved, beaten and executed. The holocaust began to end when allied forces started to liberate camps, and ended completly on May 7, 1945 when Germany surrendered to the allied forces.

    The rape of Nanking was a genocide and war rape that followed once the Japanese took over Nanking. About 300,000 people were killed and many more were raped by the the imperial Japanese army which was an act of psychological warfare. Thousands of women were gang raped, and then murdered, and many men were (approxemently 250,000) were taken as prisoners of war and buried alive, burned or used for bayonet practice

    arguably caused by the Americans under the leadership of president Nixon, the Cambodian genocide happened when the Khmer rouge seized the capital of cambodia, Phnom Penh. the cambodian genocide killed 1/5 of the population of cambodia, which is about 2 million people. Deaths were caused under the reign of pol pot, and were done by starvation, forced labor or by execution (usually by pickaxe). the goal of Pol pot was to bring cambodia back to year zero.

    Iraqi genocide
    Known as the Al-Anfal or operation Anfal, the Iraqi genocide was a campaign led by Saddam Hussein with intentions to extermanate the Kurdish people. The attacks were done by ground offensives, aerial bombing, mass deportation, firing squads and chemical warfare. The total number of civilians killed is about 1,000,000. The idea of the genocide was to kill insurgents, and "battle-aged" men were the primary target.

    Bosnian Genocide
    The Bosnian genocide was commited by the Bosnian Serb forces. It resulted in the deportation of 30,000 Bosnian muslims, aswell as 8000 deaths. The ethnic cleansing campaign included many unlawful acts including murder,rape,sexual assault,torture,unlawful confinement, beating, robbery, inhumane treatment of civilians, targeting of political leaders, unlawful deportation and transfer of civilians, unlawful shelling of civilians, and the destruction of homes, businesses and relligous buildings
  • Rwandian Genocide

    Rwandian Genocide
    The Rwandan genocide claimed the lives of approxemently 1,000,000 people, which is approxemently 20% of the east African countries population. The assassination of Rwandan president, Habyarimana was the trigger for the genocide, and ultimately caused the Hutu extremists to start killing off members of the Tutsis. The Hutus started killing the Tutsis because they claimed that the tutsi were going to enslave the Hutus, which resulted in a jump in the extremists numbers.

    Genocide in Darfur
    The genocide in Darfur was caused as a responce to the Sudan Liberation Army(SLA) and the Justice and Equality Movement(JEM) who are armed rebels seeking to end marginalizations, and protect people from attacks by nomads. The government of Sudan responce were the "devils on horseback". or the Janjaweed. The Janjaweed have attacked hundreds of villages and have killed 400,000 people.
