Steam Enigne
The Steam Engine was invented during the Industrial Revlotuion, by James Watt and Matthew Boulton in 1775. -
Reciprocating pump 200 BC
In 200 BC, a Greek inventor and mathematician Ctesibius invents the water organ, an air pump with valves on the bottom. His principal developed the modern day idea of reciprocating pump. -
Rod- like Mechanism
James Watt who invented the steam engine, also like the Egyptians used a connecting rod crank mechanism which converted the piston's motion into roatary motion. -
Connection Between Shadoof and Steam Engine
As technology was begining to advance, more and more ideas came out of the old ones. The Egptians ideas converted to the Greek idea of rotary motion which then was later translated into the idea of a jet condenser used by James Watt. In Watt's design, the cold water was injected only into the condensation chamber. Because the chambers are connected, the condenser remained cold and under less atmospheric pressure than the cylinder, while the cylinder remained warm. -
Shadoof
In 2000 BC Egyptians invent the shadoof to raise water. -
Shadoof
The shadoof was invented to make water easier to transport. The shadoof uses a long suspended rod with a bucket at one end and a weight at the other. This weight, when correctly balanced equally dispurses water to rivers and streams.
